Attention World: I have Defected

Welcome to the first post from my MacBook Pro. I’ll try to make it as shiny and hyped as Apple’s products are. Warning, contrary to my current theme this post is in fact, not green. If anything, it’s a total waste of power given the servers required to run my wonderful website.

I’m not quite a Jobs fanatic yet, but I have to admit the interface on this big guy is pretty amazing. I even have a terminal. I also don’t understand the adamant PC users who tout that Macs don’t have any good software. They must not be looking in the right places (ahem, Google) because I have found more than I can process in the past couple of days. Some of them cost a small amount of money but are totally worth it like SuperDuper backup, and others are all time free favorites like VLC.

Anyway, I took the red pill. I’m about to see how deep this rabbit hole goes. Too bad for the MacBook Air though. I can’t justify paying 2k for a computer that is totally inferior to my already beefy MacBook Pro.

Traitorous Jeremy. Not one mention of gaming on your mac. Nor any mention of all the fun types of DRM and lock-down Apple uses.

My favorite part of Apple-hatin’ has to be the Macworld keynote: nothing promotes consumeristic lust, nay even technological porn than this event. Despite all their various flaws, God bless Windows and Linux for not trying to seduce me.

(note: the second paragraph of this post may not make sense. no worries).

Gaming is a m00t point because WoW is on Mac. That’s all you need right? I forsook long ago all that was PC gaming. I’m still waiting for the new Diablo 2 patch. Plus I have a PS3 now. No, its not a Sexbox 360 with all its wonderful hardware failures but abundance of good games, but I can be a patient man (Devil May Cry 4, RE5, and FF13).

I’m not a fan of Steve Jobs or his cult following. The Mac satisfies the *nux/BSD nerd side of me very well, and it gives me a pretty slick interface to play with. I’m still getting used to the accursed apple key and pining over the loss of such simple Unix utilities like rename; but I’m quite satisfied with it’s nerd level.

It’s not perfect, but it satisfies my needs perfectly.
