Okay. I was all excited because the keyboard that I ordered last week arrived. Indeed, when I received it I tore into the box and was greeted with some sexy aluminum keys.

Excuse the crappy pictures. They were taken with a cell phone. So after I hooked this beauty up to my machine I was happily typing away when I looked down to hit shift + two–obviously wanting the @ symbol.
picture lost =(
Eh? Why is the @ symbol on the Q? Better yet, why is the double quote on the two key, and what the heck is that thing on the three key? Upon further inspection, I uncovered other maladies:

What the crap are those capital letters with more dots?

Why is the Z where the Y should be?! Mu?!? WTF?
Oh. So Newegg sent me a German keyboard. Okays. I have a RMA number and I’m going by the post office to ship the thing back. This would be the first time Newegg has ever made a mistake concerning anything I have ordered, so I’ll let it slide. Besides, it was fun playing with it.

So I bought a new keyboard recently and I’m feeling kinda guilty about it. Reading this post written by Eric a while back didn’t help much either. My old Logitech MX Duo is starting to do weird things–like the space bar not working randomly, or the mouse dieing more quickly than usual. But nevertheless, I could have bought something much cheaper. As a matter of fact, I could have bought nothing at all; my keyboard still works with the exception of some minor glitches.
I really like the feel of laptop keyboards, and the Enermax Aurora is basically a laptop keyboard for a desktop. It’s sleek, heavy, and absolutely beautiful; thus the reason I bought it instead of a $5.00 generic from Frys. Stupid marketing and convincing me I need something when I don’t.

And so begins the last glorious semester of my academic slavery to Georgia Institute of Technology as an undergraduate. The first week has been a torrent of schedule coordination, setting up meetings, and figuring out which books I can get by without buying. I am most excited about my machine learning class this semester, and I hope to incorporate it somehow in the research work that I am doing. The ideas I have gleaned from the first week of class have fascinated me to the point of perhaps revamping my specialization choices. More on this after I soak in the class for a while. Some of the ideas seem to be a little tough to swallow.

After 15 minutes of file transfers here we are at AnxAw’s brand new coordinates. Make sure all three of you who read this update your bookmarks and links. I’ll leave the old site up until the domain expires.
I’m thinking about a couple of interesting topics that I want to write about sometime soon, but it’s going to take some more mucking around in my head to get everything straight. I’ll probably do a FFXII official “review” and I’m feeling like writing about relationships. My personal experiences, my friends experiences, yelling at my friends for their experiences, and my own scripture diving has really shaped the way I look at relationships. I should probably share that.

So I bought anxaw.net today. I’ll migrate my site to that domain in about a week. Why? Because it’s easier to type. Duh.
In other news, FFXII works on my haxxed PS2. I had to rip the game, patch it, and transfer it to the PS2 HDD and enable some compatibility modes in TOXIC. Reduced load times make for faster griding, but the FMV’s skip. Not too worried about the story at the moment, so it’s all good.
