Cali Bound…Again.
This weekend I fly out to california for a week of fun and work. Well okay. Mostly work. It kinda snuck up on me--as do most things in life these days. This week marks my fourth week at Danger. Time flies.
Consequently I am now accepting applications and/or bribes regarding people who think they can fit in my suitecase. Lord knows I need the company. I know I'll be bored out of my flippin mind on that stupid plane; and my manager booked my return flight on Saturday. That means I have all day Friday and most of the day on Saturday to chill and hit some bay area beach action. Sweet.
Got Wood?
Sometimes I cruise the Les Paul forum to appease my lust for sexy guitars. Recently a friend of mine found a post of interest to me. All credit for this photo goes to oneorangedrop of the Les Paul forum:

This is an xray of a 2007 BFG. Where'd all the wood go? No wonder that year model is so light. See the original post here.
I Mourn My iPod
I recently dropped my video iPod. And by drop I mean watch accelerate to ludicras speed and slam into the concrete as I hold on to the earbuds that were wrapped around it's meager leather casing (think yo-yo). After the fall the little guy gave me the ipod sad face whenever I turned it on and I could hear the mortally wounded hard drive attempt to seek to load the OS. Luckily it was under warranty. That night I jumped onto Apples support website and filled out a support ticket. The next day my dad called me and reported that a package had arrived from Apple. They had overnighted a box for me to send the poor little guy back to them in--complete with tape. I didn't even have to buy tape! Exciting.
I didn't get around to shipping the broken device to them until Wednesday of this week. It took the care center a day to diagnose the problem, and I received a new ipod yesterday--resulting in a turn around time of less than two days. I am unsure if it is a factory refurb or if they fixed my old one. In any event, Apple has the best customer care service I have ever encountered inside a tech company. Good job guys.
Workin’ Man
Third day on the job. It's awesome. My first assignment? Install Linux of any flavor on my desktop. Naturally, I chose SuSE 10.2; and I was able to install Beryl as well. It will be interesting to see how I adjust from school to work. I was at work until 6:00pm yesterday, and if you check the timestamp on this post, I'm at work at around 7:30 today. I like mornings now. Which is totally opposite to my early years at Tech where every class was scheduled past 1pm. I must be getting old or something.
Bada boom
Couple of big things coming up, including me finishing those Console vs PC articles that I have been promising for a couple of weeks. For now, hang tight until I make 100% sure that I am graduating.
Second off, those of you coming to my graduation get together--I shan't call it a party for there shall be much more fun to be had than at a typical party--be at my house in Blairs-Vegas at around 6:00pm on deh Saturday. Check the facebook invite for directions.
