Mad props to Eric for this. I was laughing so hard I was afraid I was going to wake up the d10’s. Oh if only my roomate were here when this bomb dropped…
That video is epic, and composed strictly of 100% WIN.

A friend wrote a post referencing this article a while back, but I want to revisit it. Let’s face it, as Americans we are spoiled beyond reproach. We make up 4% of the population yet we are the richest people on the planet. I got a double dose of conviction yesterday from both my home church (First Baptist Atlanta) and my house church. At FBA we had a guest speaker who touched on the richness of the american church, and how it’s so terribly sad that we value our stuff over serving God. Then we had two missionaries from Romania visit our house church and speak to us about all the amazing things that are happening in Romainia with their ministry.
The point I want to make is this: we have too much stuff. This stuff can be used as an anchor to tie us up and make us useless to the Kingdom of God. We spend so much time trying to figure out how to entertain ourselves that we totally forget that our ulitmate entertainment and our basic needs are to be met before the cross instead of in front of the TV. We often justify our stuff with self targeted rhetoric designed to make us feel better and dodge the inevitable conviction that the Holy Spirit inflicts upon us because we have too much junk.
I am guilty. As a result of my conviction I pray that God will reign in my desires to be like the world and have all the things that the “American Dream” preaches. Instead may I live and strive towards God’s perfect will for my life–wherever that goes. I pray that for all of us.
